ABOUT US
At Asheville Neurology Specialists, our physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical professionals, and operational leaders work together to provide accessible, coordinated neurological care throughout Western North Carolina. Founded in 2004, our independent, physician-owned practice combines specialized neurological expertise with a team-based approach focused on each patient’s needs.
Our care team extends beyond the examination room. Through patient access, care coordination, clinical nursing, infusion therapy, diagnostic testing, specialty pharmacy services, and clinical research, we support patients throughout their care.
Our executive and operational leadership teams work alongside our clinical professionals to strengthen communication, improve access to services, and support efficient care delivery. Together, we remain committed to preserving the personal relationships and continuity of care that define independent medical practice.

At Asheville Neurology Specialists, our board-certified neurologists, certified physician assistants, and pharmacist work together to provide comprehensive neurological care. Our collaborative approach combines specialized clinical expertise with personalized treatment, patient education, and ongoing management of neurological conditions.
A neurologist is a physician who specializes in diagnosing and treating disorders of the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles. Neurologists complete medical school and specialized residency training in neurology. Some also pursue fellowship training in specific areas of neurological care.
Board certification through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) demonstrates that a neurologist has met established standards for medical education, specialized training, and professional knowledge.
At Asheville Neurology Specialists, our neurologists evaluate and treat a broad range of neurological conditions, including:
Our neurologists collaborate with other members of the clinical team to develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate ongoing neurological care.
Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are licensed healthcare professionals with advanced clinical education and training. APPs include physician assistants and advanced practice registered nurses, such as nurse practitioners.
APPs evaluate patients, diagnose medical conditions, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications within their scope of practice, and provide ongoing medical management.
At Asheville Neurology Specialists, our advanced practice providers are certified physician assistants who work closely with our neurologists to expand access to specialized neurological care.
This team-based approach supports timely appointments, ongoing follow-up, treatment monitoring, and continuity of care.
A Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) is a licensed medical professional who has completed graduate-level medical education and passed a national certification examination administered by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Physician assistants are trained to evaluate patients, diagnose and manage medical conditions, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop treatment plans.
At Asheville Neurology Specialists, our physician assistants provide care for patients with headache and migraine, epilepsy, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, cognitive disorders, and other neurological conditions.
They also support specialized services, including therapeutic injections, medication management, treatment monitoring, and patient education.
Working collaboratively with our neurologists, our physician assistants help patients access care and maintain continuity throughout their treatment.
A Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) is a healthcare professional who has completed specialized doctoral-level education in medications, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical care. Pharmacists are licensed professionals with expertise in medication safety, drug interactions, treatment effectiveness, and patient education.
At Asheville Neurology Specialists, our Director of Pharmacy works closely with neurologists, physician assistants, and the clinical team to support patients receiving treatment for neurological conditions.
Our in-house pharmacy provides personalized medication guidance and helps patients manage complex treatment regimens, including specialty neurological medications.
Our pharmacist supports patient care through:
