Amber Cameron, CMA

Clinical Research Lead

Amber has been a valued member of Asheville Neurology Specialists since 2013.   She began her career with the practice as a certified medical assistant and was subsequently promoted to Clinical Operations Manager, where she supervised the medical assistant team and supported daily clinical operations.  Building on her clinical and leadership experience, Amber transitioned into her current role as Clinical Research Lead.

In this role, Amber coordinates clinical trials focused on advancing the understanding and treatment of neurological conditions.  She works closely with the neurologists, research management partner, and study participants to facilitate patient recruitment, coordinate study visits, and support communication throughout the research process.

Amber’s extensive clinical background and experience in clinical practice operations provide a strong foundation and passion for her work in research.  She is committed to helping patients understand opportunities to participate in clinical studies and ensuring they feel informed and supported throughout their research experience.

Amber graduated with honors from Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College with an Associate of Applied Science degree and holds Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).  She has served as an adjunct instructor and is a a current advisory board member for A-B Tech’s medical assisting program.

Outside of work, Amber loves to spend time with her loving family and friends.
