    Prescriptions:

    In order to streamline the process of keeping your prescriptions current, please be sure to request your refill(s) during your office visit.  Should you need to call our office to request a refill, please be advised that the normal turnaround time is by noon the following day.  We request that you contact us during regular business hours.  We do have after hour call coverage, however, it is intended for emergency situations only.  In addition, we do not refill narcotic medications after hours or on weekends.

    Appointments:

    We are pleased that you and/or you primary care physician has selected us for your neurological care.  Initial requests for an appointment must come from your primary care physician.  An appointment date and time will be given to your primary care doctor’s office who will in-turn notify you of the appointment date and time.  In addition, we will request a copy of your medical records from your doctor’s office to assist us with your care.  After the initial consultation, our neurologist may require a follow up visit with you for ongoing treatment.  Normally, our schedules are open at least four (4) months in advance; however, if the follow-up date is beyond four (4) months, we will contact you within two months of the requested follow-up date to schedule that appointment. 

    If you are an established patient and your condition is worsening or is unstable, please do not hesitate to contact us to schedule an appointment. 

    If you are unable to keep a regular scheduled appointment, kindly give our office at least 24 hours notice.  If you do not show up for an appointment, there is a $50.00 charge that will be added to your account.  Furthermore, if you consistently miss your scheduled appointments, you will be discharged from the practice due to non-compliance.

    Appointment confirmation is automated through our practice software.  You will receive an automated call two (2) days prior to your scheduled appointment.  When you receive this call, please follow the prompts to ensure that you receive accurate information. 

    Financial Policy:

    Our office currently participates with the following insurance companies (please note this list is subject to change)

    Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC

    United Healthcare

    Healthcare Savings

    Medicare

    Medicaid

    Crescent Plans (Please verify your employer to be sure if we participate with your company)

    Our office policy is to collect payment at time of service.  If we participate with your insurance company and you have a copay, the copay will be collected upon arrival.  If we do not participate with your insurance company, we will generate a claim form for you; however, payment is expected at time of service. 

    Should your account become delinquent, please be advised that there is a $25.00 processing fee accessed to your account if it is turned over to an outside collection agency.  Accounts past 60 days are assigned to our in-house Patient Account Representative.  Once payment attempts are exhausted internally, the account is assigned to an outside collection agency.  If your account is assigned to the outside collection agency, you will be terminated from our practice due to non-compliance with our financial expectations.
